Review: Truthy Ruthy's Christmas Surprise

LadyD Books: Truthy Ruthy Christmas Surprise

 From the Author:

“The idea of making an interactive children’s book for ages 4-8 with three different endings will help children to learn that there’s always more than one solution to any of life’s little dilemmas. As an international expert in creative thinking, I’ve always emphasized to parents that giving children the freedom to choose, and find their own solutions, is a great gift that will make a huge difference in their lives.” Sari Barel.

The Friday 56

"Where is Ruthy? said her Mom.
"Maybe she has fallen asleep?
Suddenly there was a knock, knock, knock at the door.
"Who could that be?" said the family.
Surprise!

 My Review

This is an appealing book about finding solutions and allowing children the freedom of choice. Truthy Ruthy doesn't have any money because she's only 5. She wants to surprise her family with Christmas gifts. Experiencing a series of 3 dreams and left with a surprise box from Santa, children will learn to be creative, like making their own jewelry. Perhaps taking the initiative to discover a different approach in being creative, or experiencing a narrow perspective of being very disappointed. The 3 separate stories are the same but focus on a birthday surprise. Overall, there are many simple illustrations for the young people to see and interaction for older children. Many lessons to be learned.
4/5 stars.

December morning overlooking a small eastern mountain range in SoCal. Looks like a winter storm is leaving and heading for Arizona. It has been sheer delight in receiving some rainfall.
