Vol.1 Read and Share Dvd Bible Review

Read and Share DVD Bible

I loved watching another winning children's Dvd from Thomas Nelson! This time, I viewed an animated and well-narrated Dvd filled with thirteen short Bible stories by Gwen Ellis. This successful Dvd moves along quite nicely, holding your attention while stories of Biblical truth are told. The voice of the narrators are great and the angels are so cool! One hour of viewing is perfect for children up to age 6-8. Although perhaps you might want to pause the Dvd half way through and have a delightful intermission.

Here's a breakdown of the Chapters:

* The Beginning
The animation of creation is quite lovely filled with waterfalls and vines, starfish
and hummingbirds, and puppies and lizards!

* Adam & Eve
Take one look at Sneaky Snake and you won't be scared at all! In fact, I love how the
narration speaks directly to the kids about feelings... like hiding makes God sad.

* The Flood
"Now bring two animals... into the ark!" It is so funny to see Noah pushing a huge
elephant inside the ark! Kids love this. And to hear once again that when God makes
a promise, He keeps it is so inspiring!

* Abram
Music sets the tone for the scenes in this wonderful Dvd.

* Isaac & Rebekah
I love the animation in this short 3-minute section. I loved watching the
thirsty camels in the camel train move about, hearing flutes being played in the
background.

* Jacob & Esau
Twin boys do grow up to be leaders of two great families.

* Rachel
I was so impressed with the brilliant colors, the sheep sounds, plus the harp in
Jacob's dream.

* Home Again
Feelings of being mad and afraid are expressed here in this scene. Then you see
the joy of reconciliation and becoming friends again!

* Jesus Is Born
The angels are beautiful! and with the selection of the narration, you are holding on
to every word being spoken.

* John the Baptist
In this short story, I was delighted to find this cool looking grasshopper. This
is a plus for many delightful sons and Grandsons to see. The visual effects of the
river and the sound of running water just draw you into the scene as if you're
really there yourself, standing along the river bank.

* Jesus Tempted
Introducing fasting, not eating, to children is a good point here. And wait till
you see how they portray Satan... you'll love it!

* Jesus Loves Children
I was deeply touched as a parent and a Grandma to see how the Dvd ended with two
wonderful chapters on God's love for the children.

* One Lost Sheep
Covering a full range of emotion from worry, feeling foolish, to being accepted and
welcomed... the Dvd Bible touches every heart with love and Biblical truth.

5 stars!

If you asked me if there is any downside to the movie, I would indeed say no. I did notice, however, a very small technical error. I believe they switched the order of Jesus is Born and John the Baptist... a small typo error. Well, this is my input and really enjoyed this marvelous product. Stop by Amazon and make a purchase, retail price $14.99... enjoy!
